Established by students of Loo-Chi Hu, QSM, in 1988. The T'ai Chi Ch'uan Association, evolved in Christchurch and now has branches in Auckland and Wellington, and membership throughout NZ. The Auckland and Wellington Branches have World Tai Chi and Qi Gong events on the last Saturday in April.

Loo-Chi Hu studied Yang style T'ai Chi Ch'uan in 1941 under Chen Wei-Ming, in Shanghai, China. Chen Wei Ming is a renowned student of Yang family third generation master Yang Chen-Fu.

The title "National" came about by affiliation with a T'ai Chi Society in Taiwan. We provide an annual workshop and The Newsletter (quarterly).

Our motivation is to bring people together and share in the unique opportunity to learn the ancient Taoist art of T'ai Chi Ch'uan.
